Dope Poet Society is a local force of political change, utilizing hip-hop, protest, and community projects to create change through their artistic vision. Perfroming around the world,

with notable associates Public Enemy (for shows, recordings, and collaborations) and Fidel Castro (for a long chat following an anti-FTAA performance). DPS has been around the block.

Despite international interest, the group stays involved with their Junction neighbourhood roots. Harnessing the power

of their record label,JustUs League Records, Dope Poet Society operates the Toronto Hip Hop Cultural Arts Centre to engage youth in musical expression and activism. Fronted by Professor D and backed by label pres DJ Spinister, these renegades take the music and the movement very seriously.
